THE AQUAMARINE 45 QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH STORY

In this blog post we will share a short interview with the PANZERA team that designed the new Aquamarine Quartz Chronograph released recently.

WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND TO THE NEW AQUAMARINE QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH AND WHAT INSPIRED ITS DESIGN AND POSITIONING IN THE RANGE?

Our original design premise was that we wanted to create a new “ocean going” Aquamarine Quartz Chronograph model to complete our range of quartz chronographs.

The previous Flieger and Time Master quartz chronographs have been extremely popular watches since their launch.  They covered our Pilots and Motorsport ranges but we did not have a quartz chronograph model in our Aquamarine dive watch range. So, we knew that if we produced a quartz chrono model with similar styling and at an exceptional price point for our members, then it would also be a runaway success.

This has already been confirmed by our first week of exceptional sales.

Another key factor in the design of the watch is that though it is built from the ground up to be a rugged sports/dive watch, it must still maintain the grace, presence, and style to be worn to the board room or formal dinner if it is to be considered as a real member of the PANZERA Aquamarine family.

WHAT DOES THE AQUAMARINE QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH BRING THAT’S NEW TO PANZERA AND HOW IMPORTANT IS IT AS A NEW MODEL?

This new model will be the first quartz chronograph dive watch in our current watch range.

It is positioned as a perfect offering for our members that want to have a highly accurate and rugged chronograph watch in their collection at an exceptional cost-effective price point.

It’s also the first time we are using a two sub-dial chronograph movement rather than the three we have used on our other chrono models. We used this so we could keep the familiar feel on the dial of the Aquamarine 45 mechanical models. Retaining both the distinctive large 12 and 6 numbers on the dial that has become symbolic of that model range.

This model also fills out the full range of Quartz Chronographs so it will be the last new model of this type for quite a while.

So, in summary, the Aquamarine Quartz Chrono is the final piece in our quartz chronograph range strategy and is potentially going to be the most popular quartz chronograph model we have launched so far.
